As there are separate bets this game can appear a little complicated – however once you play you will quickly see that it is very easy, with only a raise or fold decision after the initial bets have been placed.

After betting the ante the player is dealt three cards, and must then decide whether to raise or to fold. Raising involves placing another bet the same as the ante in the raise square, while folding forfeits the ante bet. The dealer is then dealt a 3 card hand which either qualifies (contains a queen-high or better) or does not qualify.

Where the dealer does not have at least queen high the ante bet is paid at even money and the raise bet returned. Where the dealer has queen high or better the dealers hand is compared to the players hand, with payouts to the player on both the raise and ante if the players hand is better (bets are returned if the hands are the same). One more thing – if the player has a straight, 3 of a kind or a straight flush then an 'Ante Bonus' is paid on top of the usual winnings.

The 'Pair Plus' 3-card poker bet is settled without needing the dealer to qualify or compare hands. This is simply a wager on the player's 3 card poker hand being a pair or better, if this is the case then the payouts are on the following scale – for hands with no pairs the bet is lost!

• Straight pays 6-to-1
• Three Of A Kind pays 30-to-1
• Straight Flush pays 40-to-1

Simple! You should also note that most online casinos make 3-card poker easy by having a 'rebet' button. Some players choose to bet the same on the ante and pair plus, while others double-up on one of them – in order to minimize the house edge it is recommended that you raise any hand Queen-Six-Four or better and fold anything worse!
